ABC's of Faith: Value Yourself

" But do not follow foolish stories that disagree with God’s truth, but train yourself to serve God. 8 Training your body helps you in some ways, but serving God helps you in every way by bringing you blessings in this life and in the future life, too. 9 What I say is true, and you should fully accept it.” 1 Timothy 4:7-9

We value our cars and our homes. We value things inside our home like pictures and things that hold memories. We value our relationships and friendships. We value these things as important to us, so we make sure to take care of them. We maintain our home and cars, we take care of the things inside our homes. We are nice and loving to friends and loved ones and do things to help them or show love to them. What about ourselves, we value ourselves. That is why we groom ourselves, we take care in how we dress and how we act. We even take pride in our job and our work.

All this is okay but the one thing we need to value above all else is God. The time and care you put into your worldly values, your relationships and yourselves, you should put more time in with God. Let go of the worldly stories that steer you away God’s leading and follow God. Put on Godliness in all your words and actions. One way the Bible says is by training yourself. You can train your body at the gym or by exercising and diet and you will benefit but when you train yourself to serve God you will be filled with abundant blessings. Dive into the Bible, spend time in prayer, share Jesus with others, that is how you can train yourself to serve God. The more time you spend with Him the more you will find the value of God and how much of a treasure He is in your life. Value yourself by putting God into your life.
