When I see and consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have established, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You care for him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet. -Psalm 8:3-6 (AMP)
These days so many people are concerned about their looks. Are they skinny enough, do they have that perfect six pack? Does their face fit the image people look for? There are diets for everything and to make life simpler they have come up with pills that will take the fat away. Models splash across billboards, magazines and on T.V. Little girls have barbie doll complex and little boys need to look like G.I. Joe. Everything in this world has taken the simple truth away from people. We were made in God's image both female and male (Genesis 1:27).
No matter if you're tall or short, round or skinny. If you're blemish free or fight acne, eczema, rosacea or other skin irritations. God created you and He created me. We have legs, arms, feet and hands. We can walk and talk, feel and taste. We can think and feel emotions all like Him. And even though we come in all shapes and sizes, God created us for His enjoyment and for a purpose (Ephesians 2:10). His enjoyment so He can share with us His glory and His world and His purpose. To help others find Him and turn away from sin. Like a potter with clay, we are God's workmanship and we are God's creation.
The models will come and go and most six packs fade away. We all will grow old, get wrinkles, turn gray or white and share the same aches and pains. But one thing will not change, we are God's children and no matter how we look we are perfect in God's eyes. And one day we all will be made whole when Jesus comes to take us home to Heaven and we all will be restored to God's original creation in His image. So forget what the world says and be happy the way God created you to be. Because I think being created in His image is the perfection we all should see. And when God's ready, He will send the right love your way who will love you just the way God's wants you to be.
