S.N.A.P. When You are Downcast

"The Lord hears good people when they cry out to him, and he saves them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and he saves those whose spirits have been crushed. People who do what is right may have many problems, but the Lord will solve them all.” -Psalm 34:17-19

There is such a contrast to a sunny day with little to no clouds verses a rainy cloudy dreary day. When the sun is out it’s easy to feel happier, have more energy and the warmth is so invigorating. But when the sky is overcast with clouds or it’s a rainy day it’s easier to feel blah, not leave your home and just wrap up under the blankets because it’s cold. It’s very interesting how weather can have that effect on us.

There are moments in life we can feel like the weather. Some days we feel good about ourselves or things happening around us and we can be cheery and bright like the sun. But then there are those days where we just feel down, things seem to be going bad around us and we could cry at the drop of a hat. These days feel like the cloud covered rainy days and we are blue.

Life happens, sin is abundant around us and we all will have those ‘rainy day blues’. The good news is, though, that when we feel downcast and blah we just need to remember to SNAP…Stop Now And Pray.

Jesus hurts when we hurt, and He wants to help us through our down times. He has promised to deliver us and take care of us. You just have to give Him your burdens and He will keep make your days sunny again. It’s okay to be sad or overwhelmed sometimes but as we long for those sunny days we need to also find sunshine for our spirits. There will be bleak times, but Jesus will help you through each of them. Just remember to S.N.A.P. in those times.
